The Key Group

Brand identity

With origins in a government-backed education project in 2006, The Key Group officially launched in early 2024 as a collective of fast-moving companies using technology to improve the way schools operate. Each brand within the group brought its own focus, energy and customer base — but as the group expanded, so did the need for a clear overarching identity.

We partnered closely with a core team to build a brand that could hold both unity and individuality. This began with strategic foundations — developing a new name, strapline, and a shared vision, mission and values that everyone could recognise themselves in. From there, we created a bold, flexible visual identity: a confident colour palette, a clean, modern typeface and a set of geometric shapes that nod to both structure and creativity. The identity system was designed to work across a wide range of applications — from internal culture pieces to customer-facing platforms — while allowing each brand to express its own character within the group.

The new identity brings clarity, confidence and purpose to a growing group of companies making a tangible difference in education. It’s a brand that reflects the group’s ambition and scale while staying rooted in its mission. With a unified voice and visual language, The Key Group now stands out in an increasingly crowded sector — and stands together as one.

“The Reason team were really easy to work with, and were very patient with a moving brief on our side, staying flexible to support our needs and giving sound advice. We’re delighted with the outcome and have had lots of really positive responses to our vibrant new brand (which we love using on a daily basis!).”
