The Printing Charity

Brand identity

Founded in 1827, The Printing Charity (TPC) supports people who are currently, or were historically, part of the printing industry. Since 2003 the Print Futures Awards, a Printing Charity initiative, has awarded numerous grants of £1,500 to help pay costs associated with qualifications or training.

We have worked closely with TPC to refresh their main brand and create a new look and feel for both the charity and Print Futures. We inherited the logo itself and introduced a new typeface which aligned with the overall strategy to add movement and excitement into the brand. Aligning two completely different logos also helped to bring Print Futures under the same banner as the rest of the charity. These new assets, alongside an extended colour palette and commissioned photography, were then rolled out over various print and digital touch points.

Recently, TPC ran a student competition with University of the Arts London: London College of Communication, to design the Printing Charity’s annual report and the materials for the 2017 Print Futures Award. We worked in a mentoring role, directly with the winning students, to help them develop their chosen designs.
